Washington, D.C. Map Print

from 22.00

Washington D.C. was originally designed by Pierre L'Enfant, described by the black area on this map. Of course, the founders knew it would soon outgrow the downtown area, so an additional distance was relegated to a strict square diamond boundary. Virginia decided it would rather do its own thing, so the fourth side (SW) was munched out. Now we're left with this very curious shape, established by 3 straight sides and the border of the Potomac River. Beautiful, ain't she?

These prints fit in an Ikea frame, but you'll need your own matting. We also suggest Frameusa.com, or even better: Your local framer!
